Training
The establishment of a clinical research training program at USUHS is a secondary component of the IDCRP. The goals of the developing educational program are:
- To provide trainees with the skills and knowledge necessary to become successful, independent clinical researchers
- To strengthen clinical research capacity, expertise, and productivity within the U.S. military
- To develop the Uniformed Services University as a center of excellence in clinical research education
A Clinical Research Concentration within the existing Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree program at USUHS has been proposed. This will be available to all enrolled USU MPH students but will be primarily intended for clinicians and doctoral candidates/graduates in the clinical sciences.
In addition to completing the core MPH requirements, students selecting the Clinical Research Concentration would complete additional coursework including Introduction to Clinical Research, Clinical Research Design and Analysis, a Clinical Research Seminar, and Special Topics in Clinical Research.
